How trends work.
You can discover what subjects people are following—or aren’t following—virtually instantly with Google Trends.
Journalists can utilize this data to investigate possible story ideas. They can also include Trends data into news reports to show the overall interest in a particular topic, such as a political candidate, societal issue, or event.Most searched keywords
Topics that Google determines are similar and trending together on Search, Google News, or YouTube are grouped together on the Google Trends homepage (google.com/trends).
Google’s Knowledge Graph technology, which compiles search data from those three Google platforms to identify when articles are trending based on the relative jump in volume and the absolute volume of queries, is the basis for collecting Trending articles. Most searched keywords

When picking a story to write about, the Trends webpage might be useful in determining what subjects are popular at the moment. Click on one of the examples under “Latest Stories and Insights” to learn more about how Google data may be used to tell stories.
Exploring your own topics.
Assume you are working on an article on the US presidential election and want to contrast it with the Indian general elections that are held in the same year. Use the Trends search bar, please:
First Step
Use the Google Trends search bar located at the top of the homepage to enter the India General Election. Click Return to view your outcomes. Most searched keywords
Step Two
You will get data visualizations on your results page for Interest in subregion and Interest over time, along with listings of related inquiries and topics.
Step 3: Click + Compare and enter your search phrase to add topics for simultaneous comparison. Most searched keywords
Step Four
Hover your cursor over a topic’s box and select the three dots to remove or amend it. Next, select Remove.
Step 5: By typing multiple terms into the Add a search term box, you can also search for them all at once.
Comparing different sets of terms.
Up to 25 terms can be compared in each of the five groups of terms that you can compare at once. Combine phrases by utilizing + Add.
Explore by language.
You will see data from all nations or areas that utilize those characters if you input a search query using non-Latin characters. For instance, you won’t get many results from the United States if you type in 選挙, the Japanese letters for election. Most searched keywords
Comparing searches for the same term across languages is simple. To utilize the election example, simply type election into the + Compare search box after entering 選쌙 in the first search box.
Narrowing or broadening your search by geographic region and time.
On the results page next to the search bar, use the dropdowns for the world and 2004-present to refine your exploration further by region and/or time period.
